Our band boosters will have a 'sweet shop' table set up for each of our next 3 home games. 9/2, 9/8(Thursday!), and 9/16. We need students to bring in homemade baked goods to sell. Please send them in individually wrapped portions. We will also be selling fried oreos at these games as well and need 3-4 parent volunteers to work the table for each of the games. Please let Mrs. Jennings know as soon as possible if you can help for any of these dates. We don't want the same parents to have to work every game!
Thursday, August 25 we will be having our first band booster meeting of the year. Any and all parents/guardians are welcomed and encouraged to attend! We would love to hear your ideas! The meeting will be in the SGHS band room at 6:30.
Friday, August 26 is the first football game performance for the high school marching band. It is an away game at West Greene. We will be splitting half time with West Greene's band for our performance. Please come out and support our band of rebels! There is a detailed schedule for Friday's game on the documents page. Students need to report to the band room no later than 5:30. We will take a bus for all of our away games and competitions. Monday, August 29th is our 6-8 grade parent meeting, at the SGHS band room from 6:30-7:30. It is a mandatory meeting for all parents who have students in 6-8 grade band this year. If you, absolutely cannot make the meeting, you must call Mrs. Jennings to find another time to meet with her. Students have been sent home with a flyer with additional information and a copy will be uploaded to the documents page on this site soon. We will cover all of the information you need for your child to be successful in band this year. I look forward to seeing everyone and meeting our new parents. Our South Greene Bands Christmas concert has been moved to Thursday, December 8th at 7:00pm. The event will still be held at Greeneville First Church of God and as always is free and open to the public. Please, be sure to go ahead and reserve this date on your calendars. We would love to see you there!

Congratulations to Kallie Renner, who participated in the upper-east Tennessee junior band clinic this past weekend! Kallie auditioned for the event and made fourth chair flute in the 8th grade band! Way to go!
We would like to congratulate one of our juniors, Alec Rains, who participated in the All-State East band clinic earlier this month. This was an auditioned event, and Alec performed with the 11/12 blue band. Congratulations! We are proud of your accomplishment!
