Don't forget that the ticket money and auction basket items for our Meadow Creek BBQ fundraiser are due by next Friday, October 7th! Our band boosters are also working on putting together a silent auction for this event as well. If you have anything that you would like to donate for the auction it would be greatly appreciated!

Information regarding our next fundraiser has been sent home with all of our band students, grades 6-12. Meadow Creek Presbyterian Church is preparing a BBQ dinner and silent auction fundraiser for our band students on Saturday, October 15th from 3:00pm-7:00pm. The church will be preparing a full BBQ dinner with sides and a drink and all we need to do is spread the word and sell tickets! Proceeds will benefit our band program! Tickets are $7 each and people can drop in anytime between 3:00pm and 7:00pm. Our 7-12 grade students will be performing at this event as well. Our South Greene Band of Rebels is working hard in preparation for their first marching band competition of the season! They will be traveling to Chilhowie, Virginia this Saturday, September 24th to participate in the Chilhowie Apple Festival Marching Band Competition. We are very excited for this event and hope that you can come out and support our band! This Friday night we will be hosting our 7th and 8th grade band students during our home football game against Sullivan North. Our middle school students will be playing pep music in the stands with our high school marching band during the game! Students should be dropped off at the South Greene Band room by 6:00pm on Friday with their instruments and music, and students can be picked up from the band room after the game ends. We are looking forward to having them with us this week! Go Rebels!
The SGHS Band Sweet Shop Table was a definite success at last Friday's football game! We will be keeping the sweet shop table set up for each of our home games. We will be selling fried oreos, fried pickles, and various other sweets. First of all we are in need of parent volunteers to run the table during the games. At least 4 volunteers are needed per game, and we have 4 home games left this season. Please sign up to help at one of these games, this way the load can be shared by all and we won't have the same 3-4 parents working every game. The dates we have left are this Thursday, September 8th, Friday September 16, Friday October 7 and Friday October 14. We have a couple parents signed up so far but not many. I will also be posting this information to our band website and facebook page so please check out these dates and let me know as soon as possible if you can help cover a game.
If you cannot make it to any of the games we still need your help. We are asking for our students to bring in one or two items to help cover supplies for the rest of the games. Below is a list of items that we need. Please send items to the South Greene Band room as soon as you can. All help is greatly appreciated!!
3 large jugs of cooking oil
2 large bottles of ranch dressing
15 family sized packs of oreos (off brand actually fries better)
7 simple white table cloths (plastic kind from Dollar store)
Other baked goods for each game such as brownies and rice krispie treats
